Just after 17:00 hours, the volunteers from station 26 were gathering for a standby for station 27. As members were arriving for the standby, crews were dispatched to a vehicle fire at the auto auction. Engine 26-1 and Tanker 26 responded immediately with the report of one vehicle on fire. Engine 26-1 and Chief 26 arrived together finding multiple vehicles on fire in the parking lot. Engine 26-1 pulled two lines making a knock on the fire as Squad 26-1's crew arrived and assisted the engine. The fire was extinguished quickly and contained to the six vehicles that were on fire upon arrival.
