Early this afternoon, Station 26 was dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Fruitville Pike and Sego Sago road. First arriving crews encountered a box truck that overturned, leaking hazardous materials from its cargo. Crews quickly contained the spill by building a damn and retention area around a storm drain to prevent additional runoff from entering the storm drain. Hazmat crews assisted in containing the spill. Thanks to Station 23 and 28 Fire Police for assisting in shutting down roadways in the area.
