Hazmat Incident in Penn Township
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

August 25, 2017

At 10:15 this morning, Station 26, Hazmat Station 2, and EMS were dispatched for a hazmat incident in Penn Twp with multiple individuals feeling ill and an odor in the building. Station 23, 28, and 75 were requested for additional manpower due to the unknown source and nature of the odor. Fire crews worked with the facility to shut down utilities and equipment in an attempt to locate the source of the odor. While fire crews performed air monitoring and testing, EMS crews checked a large number of employees for exposure. The source of the odor was never found and all tests returned normal. Crews operated for just over 2 hours. Thank you to everyone who assisted station 26 today!
