Just before noon today, Rescue 26 was dispatched to a vehicle accident in Penn Township. Crews arrived to find an overturned fully loaded manure spreader with manure running into a storm drain. Hazmat and DEP were notified and a plan for cleanup was put into place. Around 18:00 hours, Tanker 26 and Engine 26-1 returned to the scene to flush the storm drains while Kline's stood by at the end of the sewer line to vacuum the manure and water into waiting trucks for disposal. Crews remained on scene for about 1.5 hours.
