Manheim Fire Department held our 1st Annual Bucket Brigrade 5K Race on Saturday, August 20th in conjunction with our Annual Open House at our station. The day started out with the Race starting at 9AM. The competitors left the station heading east in Ferdinand St., north on Hazel St., East on High St. turning into Doe Run Rd. in Penn Twp. Race then continued south on Penryn Rd., west on Hostetter Rd., north on Oak St., West on Stiegel St., North on Hazel St., and then West on Ferdinand St. back to the Fire Station. We had a total of 67 competitors for the race. Prizes were won in each catagory. Once the Race was finished, we then opened up the station for our annual open house. We had our apparatus on display along with a Fire Truck bouncie castle and a Dunk Tank. We had a Kids craft table set up.  Penryn Fire Department was on hand with Squad 2-8 displaying recent Fire Rehab equipment that was purchased together. Manheim Ambulance was on hand making Child ID's along with a representive from Manheim Community Library with info about our local library. Attendee's dined on Hot dogs, Chips, and Iced tea.
