Just before 9:30pm this evening, LCWC dispatched Manheim Fire Department to South Penn St. for a reported dwelling fire. Deputy 26 arrived on scene and confirmed fire visible from the roof of the building and requested the working fire dispatch. Engine 26 stretched a line to the interior to begin to extinguish the fire that was now in the attic. At the same time, additional arriving crews began to attack the exterior fire which had spread to the exposure building. The fire required extensive overhaul before units were able to start clearing the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
