November 14, 2023

Currently crews are out assisting Penryn Fire with a large pile of compost burning inside a building. This incident has been on going since early this morning.

Engine and tanker were requested early for manpower and water. Following several hours of work and several meetings with management on scene, it was determined to escalate the situation to a building fire for manpower and resources bringing the truck company to the scene. The truck company has made access holes to flow larger volumes of water into the pile. Crews will remain operating for the next few hours.

Thanks to Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80 for standing by in our fire house while crews work.
