Wednesday proved to be a busy day for the Manheim Fire Department, with a total of 5 calls answered by the volunteers including a 2 alarm fire in Mastersonville's Fire district, 3 medical calls and an alarm bells.
**2nd alarm fire** Engine 26-1 arrived and assumed the first due engine assignment and placed two lines in service to begin extinguishing and protecting the exposure. Crews were assisted with additional manpower from E-town (station 74) who deployed a 3rd line off Engine 26-1. The bulk of the fire was quickly extinguished and hot spots were located and put out. Crews operated for just over 3 hours before picking up and returning to quarters where an additional 2 hours were spent cleaning and putting the engine back into service. |
