| Crews from station 26, 25 (Lititz), 22 (Brunnerville) and 61 (Upper Leacock) traveled to the 700 block of Fruitville Pike to participate in a joint training exercise. Crews ran two scenarios to simulate a real-life incident. The first scenario involved a daytime bedroom fire on the second floor of the house with crews stretching lines, opening walls, and performing ventilation after the fire extended into the attic. The second scenario was a night time fire called in by a passerby with fire on the first floor, second floor, and attic due to balloon frame construction. Crews stretched lines, searched and removed a victim, opened walls, and preformed vertical ventilation. The Manheim Fire Department would like to thank Cassel Signs for the use of the house prior to it's demolition. Acquired structures present unique opportunities for crews to train in a real house which better prepares our members for future incidents. Thanks to Air 61 for filling our SCBA cylinders during training. Photos courtesy of Dennis Ober. |
