The Volunteers at Manheim Fire have remained busy the last several nights. Sunday night the truck was requested to assist Fire Department Mount Joy on the 2nd alarm fire with entrapment. Crews arrived and assisted with overhaul on the 2nd and 3rd floors while Chief 26 was assigned staging. Crews operated for just over 2 hours.

Tuesday morning just after 4AM crews were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Linden St. in the borough for a reported structure fire. LCWC notified Chief 26-1 they were receiving multiple reports of a working fire in the garage that is extending into the house. Chief 26-1 arrived and confirmed the report and set up command. Chief 26 was assigned to operations and confirmed all occupants were out of the structure and completed a 360. Engine 26-1 arrived securing there own water supply and was instructed to pull two attack lines to stop the spread and extinguish the garage. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down as relief crews arrived to advance into the 2nd floor and extinguish hot spots from the attic. Crews operated for just over 2 and half hours. At this time we are grateful for no injuries both with the residents and the emergency service personnel. The incident is still being investigated but at this time it is not suspicious in nature. Two adults and a very friendly dog have been displaced and will be working with Red Cross.
